Cis-trans isomerization of organic molecules and biomolecules: Implications and applications

摘要：

The implications and applications of cis-trans isomerization of organic molecules and biomolecules were discussed. It was shown that the energy barrier to isomerization was much lower in the case of pseudo-double bonds such as amides than for olefins. It was found that the two conformations may coexist, but interconversion of olefins required higher energies to occur than amides.
