摘要
Copper substrate-assisted growth process for the direct fabrication of the ellipsoidal carbon microparticles, which utilized the carbonization of acetone at relatively low temperature was demonstrated. It was observed that the Cu substrate, reaction temperature and time were vital for the appearance of ellipsoidal carbon microparticles. The proportion of the ellipsoidal carbon microparticles was as high as ∼95% estimated from the SEM images. A possible mechanism for the formation of the ellipsoidal carbon microparticles was also discussed.
