摘要
A two step method for the synthesis of latex particles coated with silica was reported. The MPS molecules were incorporated into polystyrene latex particles. A silica layer was formed on the hybrid particles surface by reaction of tetraethoxysilane in water. The organic inorganic core could be removed by calcination. The hollow structure of the resulting nanoporous colloid was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and BET measurements.
