This work deals with the design of coils to obtain a desired magnetic field in the axial direction. A computer program has been developed to implement the obtained equations and assist the design. Practical results are given to illustrate the accuracy of theoretical predictions with measured magnetic field curves. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
