The Ce-O hybridization effect of protonic conductor Y3+-doped SrCeO3 (SrCe1-xYxO3-delta) has been studied by resonant-photoemission spectroscopy (RPES). The RPES spectra show that the Cc 4f partial density of states in the valence band increases with increasing Y3+ dopant concentration. This finding indicates that the hybridization effect between the Cc 4f and O 2p states increases with Y3+ dopant concentration. [DOI: 10.1143/JJAP.42.3526].
