摘要
What are some ways to involve young people in the decisions that affect their lives at the neighborhood level? This paper distinguishes among five types of involvement-citizen action, youth action, youth development, neighborhood development, and neighborhood-based youth initiatives-and examines some of their promise and practice. It draws upon a national study of exemplary community youth programs and other studies of organizational resources that contribute to capacity building and raise questions about the future of the field.
