摘要:
This paper proposes a model-based segmentation system that consists of a modeling and an image processing suites, The modeling suite incorporates knowledge about the breast tissue characteristics, compression effects, and mammogram acquisition process. Given a specific segmentation task, this information is utilized by the system to involve proper operators from the image processing suite. The paper discuses the segmentation system in context of a specific segmentation task involving identification of the fibro-glandular tissue.
