摘要
We have developed a spin-resolved photoelectron spectrometer with a compact retarding-type Mott spin polarimeter at HSRC, Hiroshima Synchrotron Radiation Center, Hiroshima University. Secondary electrons from Ni(1 1 0) were used as the spin-polarized electron source to do performance test of the polarimeter and the best figure of merit was found as 1.8 x 10(-4) for the effective Sherman function and the scattering intensity as -0.16 and 7.1 x 10(-4), respectively. Our results show that the self-calibration is possible for this type polarimeter with a large collection angle for scattered electrons. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
