Interferometric detection of magnetochiral birefringence

摘要
We report the interferometric measurement of the magnetochiral birefringence of two optically active organic liquids, 3-(trifluoroacetyl)-camphor and carvone, at a wavelength of 633 nm in a static magnetic field of 5T. Using both enantiomers, the measurements are conducted in such a way that the natural and magnetic optical activity are compensated to zero, while the magnetochiral effect of interest is enhanced.
