摘要
The use of physics in the problem related to strength of building materials is continuously increasing, and physics has changed from being defined as the study of a certain class of problems to becoming a toolbox for solving various problems. The fuse model can be used as a statistical physics community's workhorse for fracture phenomena. The fuse model consist of a lattice in which each bond is an electrical fuse, and behaves as an ohmic resister up to a maximum current. The fuse model focuses on several features in the fracture process, including the reasons for the fracture in a loaded material. This model captures the interplay between disorder and current distribution, thus successfully mimics the interplay between stress field and local strength in real materials.
