摘要
We provide a closer look into the diameter and chirality dependences of exciton proper-ties in carbon nanotubes, using a variational methodology based on the effective mass and envelope function approximations, supported by ab initio parameters. Experimental measurements of the binding energy are reproduced within 0.02 eV for a large variety of tubes. We also report on the singlet-triplet energy splittings, which show a 1/d(2) diameter dependence. (c) 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
