摘要
One possibility to improve the stability and the electrical performance of LEDs consists of using inorganic and polymer composites as an active layer. We have investigated the electrical and optical properties of composites made by mixing poly (p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) and porous silicon (PS) grains with several PS concentrations. Analysis of optical spectra obtained in the composite thin films suggests that the incorporation of PS in the polymer matrix does not induce significant structural modifications of the polymer. Light emitting devices fabricated with the composite as an active layer exhibit lower turn-on voltage than those using pure PPV. The role of the incorporated nanoparticles in the conduction and the light emission process of the polymer is discussed.
