Temperature-dependence of open-cell nickel foams properties

摘要
The tensile experiments of open-cell nickel foam at 20°C to 330°C were carried out and the structure of deformed nickel foam at room temperature was analyzed. The mechanical properties of nickel foam at -20°C and +40°C was most important as battery was used in this temperature range. The samples were sectioned by electro-discharge machining (EDM) to minimize local cell wall damage. Open-cell nickel foam show slight temperature sensitivity at room temperatures but a strong sensitivity at high temperature.
