Characterization of the absorption edge in crystalline CdS:Cu powder by use of photoacoustic and reflection spectroscopy

摘要
The CdS polycrystalline powder was doped by diffusion with varying concentrations of Cu. The reflection and supplementary photoacoustic measurements were performed in order to examine the doping effect on the edge of the fundamental absorption band, for these strongly scattering samples. It was demonstrated that the optical threshold energy was independent of the doping concentration in the range 10(-5)-10(-2) at.Cu per at.Cd. On the other hand, the concentration increase was accompanied by a distinct growth in the width of the absorption band tail E-0. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
