摘要：

The European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR) is basically an improvement over operating plants, and features several changes to improve economy, better satisfy utility needs regarding operation and maintenance, and comply with new recommendations from the Franco-German Safety Authorities. In particular, the main components, which include the reactor pressure vessel, pressurizer, steam generator and feedwater supply system are generally larger. This provides longer grace periods in a number of transients and postulated accident sequences.
