The possibility to control the frequency spectrum of Cherenkov radiation in a microwave wakefield dielectric waveguide with the aid of an external ferroelectric layer has been studied. Using the proposed multilayer waveguide structure in combination with a special configuration of control electrodes, it is possible both to adjust the wake field frequency spectrum and to attenuate the modes corresponding to beam-deflecting (defocusing) fields in the waveguide.
