Changes in electronic properties of high quality kish graphite crystals by doping with a slight amount of iron impurities

摘要
High-quality kish graphites (KGs) were doped with small amounts of Fe at high temperatures to examine the influence of Fe impurities on their electronic properties. The Fe impurities create excess hole carriers in the KG specimens. The values of residual resistivity ratio (RRR) measured for KG 46.7-Fe and 24.2-Fe were 13.6 and 11.5, respectively. The values of the RRR and Δ/ρo decreased with increasing temperature, lowering the degree of crystal perfection. This is due to the doped Fe impurities which acted as a strong scattering center of carriers.
