Nanoparticle organization by a Co(II) coordination chemistry directed recognition reaction

摘要
A new strategy for the self-organization of bimetallic structures using an inorganic chemistry coordination reaction through the ligand shells of silver and gold nanoparticles is demonstrated. Silver nanoparticles functionalized with thioctic acid and nitrilotriacetic-cobalt(II) as the metal center were reacted with gold nanoparticles functionalized with imidazole moieties used as the Co(II) specific ligand. TEM and UV-vis spectroscopy demonstrate the attachment through the ligand shells of the particles.
