Voltammetric evidence of interfacial interactions between folates and thiols

摘要
Folates interact chemically with thiols at the interface between mercury and aqueous solutions where their particular molecular orientation and their accumulation enable specific interactions between them to take place. In these interactions the -SH group is more active in its dissociated than in its undissociated form. The results indicate that the nature of these interactions can be described as cooperative bonding in which various forms of weak intermolecular forces, above all hydrogen bridging, take part.
