摘要
This paper examines how the synergy among IT resources, human resources and business resources can lead to improved organizational performance. This central theme is illustrated using a case study of Singapore's Housing Development Board. The organizing model in the study is derived from the resource-based view of the firm, and includes three main components: IT resources, human resources and business resources. IT resources include technology and applications; human resources include sub-components such as top management commitment to IT, managerial IT knowledge and IT training; and business resources encompass IT planning and integration with strategic planning, IT-based process redesign, flexible organization and cross-functional orientation, and IT-driven interorganizational relationships. The case illustrates how these resources complement each other in improving organizational performance. (C) 2003 Elsevier BN. All rights reserved.
