In order to promote comparison of clinical results and scientific exchange, an international committee has recommended a Standard for Clinical Electroretinography. We describe our methods for establishing an electroretinography laboratory according to this Standard, and report the results of normative age- and sex-matched control data for five standard tests. Although we strongly recommend that each laboratory establish their own normal data, our results could be used for comparison with patient results as long as the laboratory parameters and testing conditions were established in a manner similar to ours, which rigidly adhered to the recommended Standard.
