摘要：

Generation and detection of polyynes in an arc discharge between graphite electrodes submerged in various solvents were presented. The polyynes could be produced in bulk quantity and could be easily identified by electronic absorption spectroscopy. The separation of the individual polyynes from the mixture formed in the submerged electric arc was achieved by an HPLC analysis on C-18 column and using a diode-array detector.
