Kinetic model for a spontaneous islanding during ultra-high vacuum deposition

摘要
A self-consistent kinetic lattice gas model for surface morphological transformation during ultra-high vacuum deposition (UHVD) at submonolayer coverage is studied. The possibility for the formation of stable arrays of self-assembled nanostructures is shown. Within a range of parameters, islands have very narrow size distribution and are arranged in a periodic lattice. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
