摘要：

Hand-held dynamometry is a convenient and portable procedure for monitoring muscle performance. A tally of research articles published since 1948 shows that journal publications noting the use of hand-held dynamometry have increased curvilinearly through 1997. The increase in number of publications is consistent with descriptions of the adoption of innovations.
