(Chemical Equation Presented) The linear μ(O,O′) bonding mode of CO2 has been found for the first time in the magnesium-aluminum compounds [{R2Al(μ-NSiMe3) (μ-OSiMe 3)Mg(thf)2(μ-O2Q}3] (1 (R = Me) and 2 (R = Et); THF ligands omitted), which were obtained by bubbling CO 2 through a mixture of AlR3 and Mg[N(SiMe 3)2]2 in THF. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
