The orientation of dislocation walls in rolled copper relative to the sample coordinate system

摘要
The orientation of dislocation walls in grains with "high wall density" (HWD) structure in rolled copper is investigated as a function of strain. After 11% reduction the fraction of HWD grains remains approximately constant. Therefore, it is expected that the dislocation walls, formed at an angle of similar to 45 degrees with the rolling direction, should rotate so that they approach an orientation parallel to the rolling plane. As a matter of fact the angle with the rolling direction does not change very much, which must imply that the walls rotate backwards to counteract the geometrically imposed rotation.
