Magnetic anisotropy in two-dimensional dot arrays induced by magnetostatic interdot coupling

摘要
The calculations of the magnetostatic coupling energy are done for the two-dimensional lattice of micrometer-size magnetic particles (dots). The circular cylindrical dots with small height/diameter ratio are considered as example. The square lattice of these nun-uniformly magnetized dots reveals the fourfold anisotropy due to interdot magnetostatic coupling. The experimental results on the Fe and FeNi micron and submicron dot arrays are discussed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
