CH3OH adsorption on clean and Cu-predeposited α-Fe2O3(0001) surfaces

摘要
The adsorption of methanol on clean and ultra-thin layer copper-deposited alpha-Fe2O3(0001) surfaces was studied using HREELS. Intact molecular adsorption is found for both types of surface. HREELS measurements made following anneals to various temperatures indicate that monolayer methanol desorbs from alpha-Fe2O3(0001) between 140 and 180 K, No evidence was found for the formation of species such as formate on the composite Cu/alpha-Fe2O3(0001) surface.
