Figure Presented Big in, small out: Large-scale synthesis of AgBr nanowires with high aspect ratios has been successfully achieved for the first time through an extremely simple replacement process between bulk Ag foils and aqueous Fe3+, Br-, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) at room temperature. The AgBr nanowires exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than spherical AgBr nanoparticles and commercial N-doped TiO2 in the photocatalytic decomposition of methylic orange (see figure). © 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
