Perchloric acid immobilised on silica gel has been used as an efficient promoter for per-O-acetylation, and acetalation and subsequent O-acetylation of glycosides and thioglycosides in one-pot using stoichiometric reagents. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
