摘要
The preparation of double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWNT) by hydrogen-arc discharge, was analyzed. The arc discharge employed to prepare the DWNTs was operated with a direct current of 100-120 A between a graphite-rod cathode and a cylindrical anode, which was made up of a mixture of graphite powder, catalysts and growth promoter. It is found that a certain amount of KCl to the starting mixture is critical for growth of DWNT. The results show that the increased amount of KCl lads to a smaller amount of DWNTs.
