Trinuclear complexes of copper, cobalt and iron with N,N′-di(2-pyridyl) formamidinate ligands, [M3(DPyF)4][PF6]2

Three isomorphous linear trinuclear complexes [M-3(DPyF)(4)] [PF6](2). 4CH(3)CN . 2Et(2)O, M=Cu(II), Co(II), Fe(II), DPyF=N,N'-di(2-pyridyl) formamidinate, have been synthesized and their structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The structure of the cations in these compounds consists of a linear, symmetrical chain of metal atoms. The central metal atom is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms that form a ruffled planar array while the outer atoms are six-coordinate. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
