摘要：

After the REMATCH trial(1) and international consensus recommendations(2) on mechanical circulatory support, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) initiated the ISHLT Mechanical Circulatory Support Device (MCSD) database because of the evolving important role of MCSD therapies in the temporary and permanent treatment of advanced heart failure. This analysis constitutes the third annual report of the ISHLT MCSD database. Guided by the MCSD database steering committee (Appendix 1), the registry has collected voluntary data from 60 international centers (Appendix 2) since 2002. This report is based on analysis of 655 patients entered into the database between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2004.
