A physicochemical mechanism of wave rearrangement in a decaying glow discharge plasma is studied. A mechanism for stratification of the plasma flow via excitation and emission from a pseudometastable oxygen state is confirmed. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7850(97)02711-0].
