摘要
Time- and temperature-dependent diffraction (TDXD) is a useful technique for tracing structural and microstructural changes occurring in solids. It is a complementary tool to conventional thermal analysis used for measuring energy and weight changes. Although conventional X-rays cannot rival with the intense synchrotron sources, they can be used for a number of dynamic studies for which it is preferable to be close to thermodynamical equilibrium conditions or for which the reaction speed is not too fast. It is a powerful technique to assist investigations concerned with the reactivity of solids. A number of studies on the thermal behaviour of solids is presented. These include the use of the TDXD method for exploring complex chemical reaction schemes and the interpretation of solid-state reaction kinetics.
