Synthesis and characterization of pH-responsive copolymer microgels with tunable volume phase transition temperatures

摘要
Microgels with decreased volume phase transition temperatures were produced by incorporating TBAm with NIPAm. Modifications of the ratio of TBAm to NIPAm allowed for the precise tuning of the deswelling temperature of the microgels. Furthermore, incorporation of acrylic acid imparted pH responsivity, resulting in modulated phase transitions as a result of pH modification.
