Synthesis and characterization of a novel light-emitting polymer containing highly efficient hole-transporting aromatic diamine

摘要
A new electroluminescent copolymer incorporating both a highly efficient hole-transporting moiety, tetraphenyldiaminobiphenyl (TPD), and a light-emitting moiety, 2-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-5-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene (MEH-PPV), was prepared. The polymer possessed high thermal stability (T-d = 308 degrees C), good electrochemical reversibility and stability, an excellent thin-film-forming property, and a bright yellow light-emitting property. Electrical characterization of a diode device based on the structure of ITO/CuPc/TPD-MEH-PPV/Al showed a rectification ratio greater than 10(6) and a low turn-on voltage of 4.5 V.
