Tetrahedral Ti4+ in the solid solution Ba2Ti1+xSi2-xO8 (0<=x<=0.14)

摘要
A previously unreported solid solution based on fresnoite, Ba2TiSi2O8, has been found in the BaO:TiO2:SiO2 system. It forms by partial replacement of Si by Ti and has the formula Ba2Ti1+xSi2-xO8 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.14). Infrared spectra confirm that the excess Ti is tetrahedrally coordinated. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
