摘要
The implementation of microwave heating as an important processing method for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite (HAP) by solid-state reaction at room temperature, was described. The microwave heating was compared with conventional heating in the synthesis of HAP and the effects of microwave heating time on the morphology of the products were also investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the synthesized HAP indicated that products obtained under conventional heating mode were poorly crystallized as compared to products obtained from microwave heating. The results show that microwave radiation plays an important role in the synthesis of HAP nanorods as it can lead to much shorter reaction time and easier work-up.
