6Cyclic voltammetry was applied for the first studies to detect 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) electrochemically in the gaseous phase. Up to now the detection of 2,4,6-TNT in the gaseous phase is problematic because of the small vapour pressure of 7 ppb at room temperature. These preliminary results show for the first time the possibility of detecting substances with small vapour pressures using cyclic voltammetry at microelectrodes. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
