摘要：

Photogrammetrical studies of volume changes of glaciers are a helpful complementary tool to field studies of mass balance. Map data give an indication as to what has happened and field data provide possibilities to interpret why it happened. Photogrammetric studies are thus well suited for monitoring programmes, especially in remote areas such as in the Arctic, Photogrammetrically surveyed volume changes can also be used to validate field measured mass balances.
