Interface contributions to magnetostriction in transition metal based soft magnetic multilayers

摘要
We report experimental data on the saturation magnetostriction constant of Fe50Co50/Ag multilayers, interpreted using a model which allows the separation of bulk and inter-face contributions. It is clearly demonstrated that there is an interface contribution, which in this system can lead to an increase in the saturation magnetostriction constant of the multilayer over the bulk value for a random polycrystalline sample.
