Comparative study of Bi2201 single crystals grown from solution melt and in cavities formed in KCl

摘要
We have established that by using different temperature gradients and temperature regimes it is possible to obtain two types of Bi2201 single crystals from the same solution-melt KCI: on the solution-melt surface and in gas cavities formed in the melt volume. These two types crystals differ in both structural perfection and superconducting properties. Only Bi2201 single crystals formed by a "free" growth in cavities display reproducible structural perfection and superconducting properties and can be recommended to use in precision experiments to study the mechanism of HTS.
