Magnetic ordering in URhSi and URhGe

摘要
The intermetallic compounds URhSi and URhGe have been studied by means of neutron powder diffraction. It was confirmed that the compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic TiNiSi-type structure with space group Pnma. The refined lattice and atomic positional parameters are presented. At 9.5 and 9.0 K, URhSi and URhGe undergo a magnetic phase transition into a ferromagnetic structure. Magnetic structure of URhSi is collinear with uranium moments (mu(ord) = 0.50(2) mu(B) at 1.4 K) oriented parallel to the c-axis. Magnetic structure of URhGe is non-collinear. The spin configuration in this compound can be described by two magnetic components; predominantly a ferromagnetic component (mu(F) = 0.43(2) mu(B)) oriented parallel to the c-axis and minority antiferromagnetic component (mu(AF) = 0.26(2) mu(B)) aligned along the alpha-axis.
