摘要
The temporal evolution of grain size and strain during low-energy ball milling of Fe powder has been determined for different temperatures and milling intensities. The steady-state grain size has an apparent activation enthalpy of 0.025 eV. Analysis of the rate law for grain-size evolution shows that this low value is a result of competition between grain refinement and growth, both of which are temperature dependent and have similar activation energies.
