Combustion synthesis and characterization of new class of ZnO-based ceramic pigments

摘要
This paper illustrates the combustion synthesis of transition metal ions (cobalt, manganese and nickel)-doped ZnO-based ceramic pigments. The combustion synthesized ceramic pigments have been characterized by powder XRD and diffuse reflectance spectra. All the samples are crystalline in nature. Cobalt, manganese and nickel are present at Zn site as Co2+. Mn2+ and Ni2+, respectively. Simultaneous doping of two or three transition metal ions results in various shades of colour.
