Previous scaling results indicate that the H-mode power threshold increases nearly linearly with the line-averaged density, <(n)over bar (e)>, and the toroidal field, B-t. The power threshold was measured in similar, ITER-like, discharges in JET and DIII-D, at the same <(n)over bar (e)> and B-t in order to determine the size scaling of the power threshold. The results indicate a size scaling proportional to the surface area, S-0.5, which is weaker than the linear surface area dependence previously assumed.
