Stimulated Raman suppression under dual-frequency pumping in singlemode fibres

摘要
Suppression of stimulated Raman scattering is demonstrated in a singlemode fibre by single polarised, dual-frequency pumping. The suppression mechanism, based on the spectral asymmetry of the Raman susceptibility, is most efficient when the frequency spacing between the pumps is 26THz, twice the Raman shift.
