摘要
Welded type 316L stainless steel parts with different surface finish and passivation treatment have been evaluated by Scanning Kelvin Probe Analysis (SKPA). re stainless samples were cut from welded pipes of 2'' diameter. One set of samples had been electropolished, while the other set had been mechanically polished. In addition, one sample in each set was passivated after welding in an organic solution containing oxidizing and complexing components. SPKA carried out in humid air clearly identified the locations of the weld area and the heat affected zone (HAZ) in the mechanically polished sample Electropolishing and passivation re-established a uniform passive layer. These results have been confirmed by pitting scans carried out in 0.1 M KCl.
