Effective thermal conductivity of heterogeneous two-phase material using the self-consistent finite element method

摘要
Advanced materials often involve the mixture of a second phase material in a host phase. These materials with very specific properties can be synthesized by controlling the nature of each phase as well as the shape and spatial distribution of the inclusions. This needs homogenization tools that yield accurate effective transport properties. A numerical extension of a pure analytical treatment of the problem, namely the self-consistent method, is presented.
